You don’t want to miss this! I am going to tell you about the 5 FREE resources that I can’t live without. As you know, being a VA can present challenges at times. Since you are not right there in your client’s office, you have to be creative about ways to deliver projects or even communicate. You want to have access to all the tools you need to complete a project, but don’t necessarily want to shell out hundreds of dollars to make it happen.
These FREE resources will help to make you life a little easier:
1) www.foldershare.com - A free file sharing program that allows you to share the contents of specified folders with whomever you choose. All files are automatically updated as changes are made. So, it elimates having to email the same file back and forth. AWESOME!!!
2.) www.mozy.com – A free (up to 2 MB) online backup utility. Being responsible for client data can be a big headached. But, with Mozy, you just install and schedule the automatic backups and your set. Your files are backed up on servers that are nowhere near your computer. So, if you have a system crash . . .you are safe.
3.) www.logmein.com – Allows you to remotely access your computer or someone else’s. So, both you and a client can see the same computer screen and review a document or presentation together. Great for using if you and a client need to have a “virtual”meeting.
4.) www.cutepdf.com – Who needs Acrobat? This is free software that allows you to print to a pdf. In other words, anything on your screen that you can print to a printer can be made into a pdf. Just install the software and look for the extra printer in your list of printers.
5.) www.a-pdf.com – This site has A PDF Merger and A PDF Number. The merger allows you to merge different pdf’s into a single document. The Number will number the pages of an already created pdf file with options of placement and font.
